Bluebonnet Baby

So, one of my objectives for our Dallas visit was to get photos of my Texas-bred (but not Texas-born - sad!) baby with the bluebonnets. For those who don't know, bluebonnets are the state flower of Texas, and there are several fields around my parents' house that were just gorgeous in full bloom. Unfortunately, the leisurely photoshoot I had planned turned into a "Oh no we leave tomorrow morning and we have to have the car back by 5:30 tonight and the baby woke up from her nap at 4:30 sowehavetenminutestoshootphotosGOOOOOO" expedition. I would have liked to have played with the light more and changed positions more etc., but we still got some good shots. (And no, we didn't have to trample any bluebonnets because lots of people had already trampled them before us. There were a TON of other families there taking photos too.)

Here are some of my favorites:

Lost the hat - a shame because I liked the way it looked!

Wheeee. Not quite a pro at sitting up on her own yet!

But she's a good sport about it!

It's illegal to pick a bluebonnet in Texas.

Probably illegal to eat one too.

Someone didn't get the memo.

"Hey, where'd my illegal flower go?"

After a rather spectacular faceplant.

Texas tears.

  3. Not sure which I love more: the pictures themselves (adorable!) or the captions (hilarious). Such a fun post!
